Construction includes realignment of the intersection, both horizontally and vertically, involving construction of both the roadway and the storm sewer system. The project will also include replacement of existing sidewalk along the northwest side of Orangewood Boulevard. In addition, this project also includes the construction of raised median with additional storage for left-turning traffic in the median on Orangewood Boulevard and Eastbound Gateway Avenue. Proposed intersection improvements include reconstruction of the existing asphalt pavement, new pavement markings with special emphasis crosswalks and curb ramps. Drainage improvements include concrete pipe culvert, ditch bottom inlets, manholes, and concrete endwalls. Signalization work involves converting the existing four-way stop controlled intersection to a fully signalized intersection with mast arms and interconnect. Pedestrian improvements include construction of new curb ramps at the intersection and replacement of existing sidewalk with 4" thick concrete sidewalk where necessary Substantially complete in 274 consecutive calendar days from date of Official Notice to Proceed.
