Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Minden, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Township of Minden Hills is seeking qualified bids to replace the Sedgwick Road Bridge. The work shall generally consist of the replacement of the Sedgwick Bridge as follows: Sedgwick Road Bridge Replacement The Sedgwick Bridge (MH#8) located on Sedgwick Road in Gelert, Ontario is a single lane cast-in-place concrete t-beam structure with an overall length of approximately 16.3 m. The structure was built in or around 1920. The Sedgwick Bridge will be removed entirely and replaced with a new pre-cast concrete structure with distribution slab and spread footings complete with wing walls, guiderail rehabilitation and asphalt road reconstruction. Gelert Rail Trail Bridge for Repair and Detour The Gelert Railway Bridge (#RT-2) located on the Haliburton Rail Trail has one lane within an approximate 3.8 m wide platform. The bridge is part of the recreational Haliburton Rail Trail connecting Francis Road to Cemetery Road. The bridge will be utilized as a temporary detour route for local traffic only while construction takes place at Sedgwick Bridge. Prior to road closure at Sedgwick Road Bridge, repairs, and modifications related to the existing Rail Trail Bridge deck components and safety barriers shall take place to provide a detour route.
