The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to seek a qualified playground construction company to design, supply, and install new playground equipment and amenities for a safe and enjoyable neighborhood play area for children and families for many years to come. The successful proponent will be responsible for supplying full design and construction services for this project. This will include but not be limited to the following: a) Rough grading of the site as required for the playground installation. b) One integrated and connected play structure without freestanding individual components for children 2-5 years old. c) One integrated and connected play structure without freestanding individual components for children 5-12 years old. d) One swing set c/w 3 belt seats and 1 baby seat. e) EWF safety surface. f) Design shall foster motor, sensory, and social skills. g) The equipment shall include activities for a complementary mix of climbing, agility, spinning, exploratory swinging, and sliding activities are required. h) The layouts' fluid flow shall allow for play patterns, which inspire playful and engaging interactions for children. i) The equipment shall be colourful, playful, fresh and not theme specific. j) Plastic and metal are preferred over wood equipment. k) The equipment and design shall match as closely as possible with the proposed Preliminary Design, found in Annex C. l) A total budget not to exceed $155,000 plus GST, is allocated towards designing, purchasing and delivering the equipment, protective surfacing, and borders applicable to the project. Price is to include freight to site, offloading and storage if needed, installation, concrete, auguring, removal of tailings, installation of protective surfacing, and installation of borders.
