*A constructoin manager has not been selected as of June 16th, 2022. It is anticipated that the Engineering Building Project's construction efforts will involve a total of 30,384 gross square feet (gsf) of space. These construction efforts encompass: o Renovating 17,984 gsf of existing industrial lab space and related adjacent areas (hallways, classrooms), including several key infrastructure areas. The areas renovated include a construction management lab/workshop, shared materials testing lab, shared process simulator training lab, CNC machining center, CNC tooling & materials area, a ceramics workshop/ materials lab, and equipment storage and shared instruction space. o Additions and major renovation of 10,400 gsf (7,550 gsf of new additions and 2,850 gsf of major renovations). This includes a Fab "Hub" for 3D printing, a multi-functional fabrication center with controlled storage, and collaborative workspaces. o Repurposing adjacent outside space and create an exterior welding lab (2,000 gsf). This space will mimic onsite working conditions to prepare students for those employment situations. This project is also critical with implementing necessary objectives for enhanced safety, increased efficiency, and the protection and control of industrial materials and supplies. Design and engineering services were awarded to Hasenstab Architects, Akron, Ohio. Project construction will utilize the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) methodology.
