Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Evansville, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The Evansville Fire Department (EFD) is soliciting competitive quotes from licensed contractors for repairs at the EFD Station #1 at 750 SE 8th St, Evansville, IN 47713. Your company, among others, is invited to submit a quote on a competitive basis in the format described in this Request for Quotes (RFQ). This RFQ establishes requirements and defines responsibilities of the proposing bidder (hereinafter "Vendor" or "Contractor") to perform all phases of renovations and repairs at said location. The City reserves the right to award the quote on a line item basis or lump sum basis whichever is in the best interest of the City. Likewise, the Board of Public Safety reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, and to waive any informalities in the bid. The Board of Public Safety reserves the right to reject any one or all bids and to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Furthermore, the Board of Public Safety reserves the right to hold the bid of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period sixty (60) calendar days from and after the time of the quote opening. The City of Evansville formally adopted a Minority and Women Business Utilization Plan illustrating a commitment to achieving significant utilization of Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBE) in the community's purchasing efforts. Goals have been established to provide an atmosphere of equal opportunity for all vendors and to prohibit discrimination in all aspects of the public operations including the purchasing of products, services, and public works contracts. (See City of Evansville Municipal Code 3.90.110-180.) The Contractor shall not commence any Work under this Contract until he has obtained insurance of the types and in the amounts required by this Section, nor shall the Contractor allow any Subcontractor(s) to commence any Work on his Subcontract until all insurance required of the Subcontractor(s) has been obtained. The Contractor shall be responsible for verifying the acquisition and maintenance of said insurance by any Subcontractor(s) hired by the Contractor. Foundation Stabilization Work: e. Piles to be Helical Piers or Push Piers. f. Structural Pile loads are based on a 3.5kips/LF load. At 4ft O.C. pile installation spacing, the pile design load is 14 kips. This load does not include safety factors. g. Pile price should be based on a silty-sand and approximate 25-30ft embedment. Piles are to be galvanized. h. Contractor to submit pile design calculations by pile manufacturer or geotechnical engineer to owner. i. Owner will have control points installed in the brick veneer as a baseline for elevation monitoring. j. Contractor to warranty the pile installation for 2 years against settlement greater than 1/4 " determined by surveyor based on the control points. Landscaping/Drainage/Grading Work: i. Replace exterior concrete slab closest to building on north side of building (Gum St side, by vending machine) to establish correct drainage away from building. j. Replace exterior concrete slab closest to building on east side of building (along parking lot) to establish correct drainage away from building. k. Replace exterior concrete slab closest to building entrance door at west-southwest (section of walkway on SE 8 th St) to establish correct drainage away from building Outside Concrete/Wall joint work: b. Tuckpoint and seal exterior brick veneer at northeast window (Gum St side). c. Tuckpoint and seal exterior cracks in exterior brick veneer joints on east side facade facing parking lot. d. Seal the vertical brick veneer expansion joints on the northeast side, the east-northeast side, and in the corner areas where piles are installed (see existing first floor plan for brick joint locations).
