MTA seeks to retain the services of a qualified design-build team (the "Design-Builder") to perform the design and construction Work for Contract E30643, which calls for the replacement of two escalators at 161 Street-Yankee Stadium Station and two escalato rs at Dekalb Avenue Station (the "Project" or the "Work). The Design-Builder will be responsible for all aspects of desi g n, en g i neeri ng, scheduling, coordination, construction, and timely completion of the Project. MTA C&D intends to award the design-bui l d co ntrac t (the "Design-Build Contract") at the conclusion of the RFP process Project Scope/Description The Work under this Contract is to replace the two existing escalators at the 161-Street Yankee Stadium Station and the two existing escalators at the DeKalb Avenue Station with new heavy-duty transit escalators, suitable for 24-hour continuous operation. The Work also includes the replacement of the equipment in the escalator machine rooms and state of good repair Work in the vicinity of the escalators, such as the replacement tile finishes on the walls, adding new hand rails to the existing stairwells adjacent to the escalators, and replacement of the existing lighting with new LED lighting.
