The Town of Beaufort is requesting BIDS for construction of the CAMPEN ROAD WATERLINE EXTENSION to be located in Beaufort, North Carolina. The waterline extension work will generally include performance of the following tasks: 1. Trench and place 940 linear feet, more or less, of 6" C900 PVC water line along shoulder of Campen Road. Connect to existing valve and 6" water line at south end. Includes two storm water pipe crossings consisting of 20 linear feet of DIP and four 6"-45 bends, more or less. 2. Construct one fire hydrant assembly. 3. Placement of a run of the waterline across Campen Road by open cut to connect to an existing 6" water line at north end of the project. 4. Install ten (10) 1-inch service lines from the new main to Town customer properties including placement beneath Campen Road by boring. Reconnect nine (9) existing residential meters and place one (1) new meter box with meter setter and angle valve. 5. Perform leakage testing and satisfactory disinfection of the new main. 6. Abandon existing services. 7. Repair the Campen Road pavement removed for the main crossing to include placement of subgrade fill as needed, aggregate base course, asphalt surface course, and all else necessary. 8. Provide sedimentation and erosion control as needed including 925+ linear feet of silt fence. 9. Seed and mulch all areas disturbed by the work. 10. Perform restoration and cleanup work as required. The Town of Beaufort reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest. The successful Bidder, upon award of contract, shall furnish a Payment Bond for 100% of the project price; and a Performance Bond for 100% of the project price. A Surety licensed to do business in the State of North Carolina must issue the Payment Bond and the Performance Bond. The Bonds will be executed by the signing of a Power of Attorney by the Surety and will list the Resident North Carolina Agent. BIDDERS must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9.
