Site work and renovation of a civil project in Buford, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The completed Work will provide Owner with improvements to the F. Wayne Hill Membrane and East Chemical Buildings which includes the addition of 4 new membrane cassettes in each of 16 existing membrane tanks. Work also includes replacement of 16 permeate pumps, 2 drum screens, 2 backpulse pumps and the addition of a third, and 2 CIP pumps. Chemical pumps associated with the membrane process will be relocated to the East Chemical Building. HVAC equipment in both the Membrane and East Chemical Buildings will be replaced. Electrical work includes the construction of two new masonry electrical rooms, replacement of existing 12 KV/480V unit substation transformers, the modification of existing variable frequency drives to support the new pumping equipment and replacement of all lights with LED fixtures. In addition to the relocation of membrane chemical pumps, improvements to East Chemical Building include the addition of a new canopy over the truck fill station, replacement of one chemical tank, replacement of 10 metal salts feed pumps and associated appurtenances. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted. nding and Insurance: All Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or a certified check made payable to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The Bid Bond or certified check must be enclosed in the envelope with the sealed bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the total amount bid and provide insurance coverage as required by the contract documents. Bonding Company should be licensed to do business in Georgia, licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of the Treasury's Publication of Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-X or higher. All bonds should be submitted on forms provided by Gwinnett County and agencies providing bonds and insurance should provide proof that they meet the criteria outlined in the bid and contract documents. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. 700 (substantial) / 730 (final) Bidder agrees to complete the Contract awarded within the "allowable calendar days for completion" from the date of the "Notice to Proceed" and he further agrees that the Owner may retain from the monies which may become due the amount of $2,700 (sub)/ $1,900 (final) for each and every day that the completion of the work may be delayed. Bids in the case of Corporations not chartered in Georgia, must be accompanied by proper certification stating that said Corporation is authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. The County will award the Contract to the lowest "qualified" bidder, subject with the Owner's right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interests. With limited response, Gwinnett County reserves the right to extend the solicitation opening date as appropriate in order to assure a competitive procurement process.
