Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Louisville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; for the construction of a warehouse / distribution facility; warehouse / distribution facility; warehouse / distribution facility; and water / sewer project.

Bids being mailed for this work should be mailed to Jessica Cooper, P.E., Deputy Director Water and Sewer, City of Maryville Water and Sewer Department, 332 Home Avenue, Maryville, Tennessee 37801, and each bidder shall be responsible for their delivery by the above noted time The Work is in one Contract and is generally described as follows: Site grading; Modifications to the existing Belt Filter Press Building including replacing the existing sludge belt filter press and the associated discharge conveyor system and polymer activation/feed system; Construction of a new Sludge Thickener Building that will house one relocated existing sludge gravity belt thickener and one new sludge gravity belt thickener and associated new polymer activation/feed systems; Modifications to the existing Sludge Thickener Building including the relocation of the existing sludge gravity belt thickener and the associated control panels to the new Sludge Thickener Building and the modification of discharge piping on the existing aerobic sludge holding basins aeration system blowers; Installation of piping, valves, and manholes; Electrical, heating, and plumbing work; and Miscellaneous site development work. Liquidated damages for non-completion are $1,000 per calendar day. General Contractors shall comply with all of the following prequalification requirements in order to have their bid for the captioned contract opened and considered. Evidence of completion of one project since July 1, 2016 similar in nature (wastewater treatment plant construction including reinforced concrete below grade structures, ductile iron piping, ultraviolet light disinfection equipment installation and belt filter press or gravity belt thickener installation) having a cost of at least $10 million in the role of general contractor by providing the following information to the Engineer: a.detailed description of the project scope, b.bid amount, c.final contract amount, d.stipulated original contract time of completion, e.actual time of completion, f.contact information for Owner, and g.contact information for Engineer. This evidence of similar project completion and resumes shall be submitted via electronic mail to Kevin S. Young, P.E. on or before 5:00 PM Central Daylight Savings Time on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Inquiries should be directed to Kevin S. Young, P.E., Project Manager All bidders must be licensed general contractors as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1976 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee and qualified for the type of construction being bid upon. If this is not done, the bid will not be opened. Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions for Bidders. The successful bidder is required to furnish both an acceptable performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Each bidder shall be properly licensed and abide by the provisions of TCA 62-6-119. In compliance with TCA 12-4-126(a) and (b), the Engineer will not issue addenda less than forty-eight (48) hours before the bid opening date and time. Any questions concerning the bid documents shall be received by the Engineer before ninety-six (96) hours prior to the bid opening date and time. All bidders shall comply with all provisions of TCA 50-9-113 as it relates to Drug-Free Workplace requirements. The Contractor shall be responsible for any of its Subcontractor(s) compliance with said law. All bidders shall comply with all provisions of Chapter 878 of TCA 12-4-1 as it relates to certification of compliance regarding illegal immigrants. The Contractor shall be responsible for any of its Subcontractor's compliance with said law. All bidders shall comply with all provisions of Chapter 817 of TCA 12-12-106 as it relates to certification of compliance regarding the Iran Divestment Act. The Contractor shall be responsible for any of its Subcontractor's compliance with said law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to negotiate with the apparent qualified best bidder or bidders to such extent as may be necessary. All the work shall be completed within 550 calendar days; liquidated damages for noncompletion are $1,000 per calendar day.
