The Work for the Zone 2 Tanks Isolation Valves Project generally includes installing one (1) new 30-inch butterfly valve and replacing one (1) existing 30-inch butterfly valve at the District's Zone 2 Tank Site. In order to install the new valves, it is anticipated that one (1) and possibly a second in line temporary stop plug will be required to isolate the pipes to allow for the new butterfly valve installations. All material and equipment including the two (2) 30-inch butterfly valves and the temporary line stops are to be furnished by the Contractor. The valves are to be installed on the existing tanks inlet/outlet 30-inch pipes and will include new pre-cast manhole vaults for the valve operators. The contractor shall submit an estimated construction schedule with the proposal confirming that they can begin construction in November 2021 and be substantially complete by March 1, 2022. The Contractor shall anticipate long lead times for the butterfly valves and related material and shall plan to begin the shop drawing submittal process and delivery of equipment as soon as the project is awarded and the Construction Agreement is executed. The contractor is welcome to provide a cost saving proposal with the "sealed" competitive proposal.
