The project will include the installation of approximately 1,000 LF of 8" ductile iron water main with appurtenances and the construction of a rechlorination facility, which includes installation of a 10'x18' fiberglass building, piping, pumps, appurtenances and electrical work. Project includes two contracts: Contract No. 1 - General Construction and Contract No. 2 - Electrical Construction. Project includes two contracts: Contract No. 1 - General Construction and Contract No. 2 - Electrical Construction. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated portal. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Other Requirements Bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope and clearly marked as a bid for the Project. The envelope must also bear the name and address of the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. A Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated contract price, shall be required from the Successful Bidder. The Supplementary Conditions set forth requirements for the payment by the Contractor and all Subcontractors of minimum wage rates for all classes of laborers and mechanics as set forth by all applicable provisions of the PA Prevailing Wage Act, and the Bid shall be prepared accordingly. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids and to award either contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the total of all lump sum items. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within sixty (60) days after the actual opening thereof. The Work will be substantially complete within 150 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 4.01 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within 180 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
