As of July 7, 2022, an architect and a construction manager at risk was selected and construction is underway. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The University of Maine System desires to procure architectural and engineering design services from individual firms or teams for the design and construction administration services for the 300 FORE STREET RENOVATIONS for the relocation of the Maine School of Law and other University entities. The temporary relocation of the University of Maine School of Law as well as groups tied to the Maine Professional and Graduate Center and other University departments or areas to 300 Fore Street, Portland, Maine is planned prior to the start of the Spring Semester in January 2022. There is need for renovations and fit out of current spaces of 300 Fore Street. The University is interested in innovative and cost-effective solutions to creating the needed spaces. 300 Fore Street is a 63,841 SF modern office building with open floor plans and is currently classified as business use. The building is a 5-story building plus a basement level. Conceptual Space Planning is currently being conducted as a separate contract and the results will be made part of scope of the design. The following elements are anticipated to be incorporated into the building renovations/fit out: Conceptual Building Elements: Library with high density shelving and storage space Departmental office suite arrangements Shared spaces for conferencing, collaboration, and innovation Open space for students, shared gatherings, and events Flexible Classrooms Scope of work is likely to include but not be limited to the following: Renovations to existing and construction of new offices. Reconfiguration and renovation of existing office cubicles. Construction of new classrooms. Renovations to existing and construction of new conference spaces. HVAC, Electrical and Fire Protection adjustments to accommodate new space build out. Collaborative student spaces Furniture solutions No site tours will be provided at this time.
