The Work consists of all labor, skill, and materials required to properly construct the Improvements. Major components of the unit price contract include: Contract No. 1 - General Construction: Work generally consists of rehabilitating approximately 0.5 miles of gravel road along 83rd Avenue NW from 38th Street NW south 0.5 miles by means of mining, scarifying, compacting and placement of gravel. Work also consists of reshaping gravel road surfaces and placing gravel on 83rd Avenue NW from the location of the end of the previous rehabilitation work south to 37th Street NW along with 38th Avenue NW from 83rd Avenue NW west approximately 0.5 miles. In addition, grading and installation of safety features along 37th Street NW. All work consists of the following approximate quantities: Common Scarify, Condition, Compact Subbase, Install Geotextile Fabric; and Place 8-inches (8") NDDOT Class 5 Aggregate Base (8,650 SY); Place 6-inches (6") NDDOT Class 13 Aggregate Surface Course (21,300 SY); Installation of geotextile fabric; Installation of guardrail, Installation of various sized pipe conduit; Implementation of Work Zone Traffic Control; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and features; landscaping; seeding; and other related work items is required. No Davis-Bacon wage requirements. All Work shall be done according to the Bidding Documents. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Additional Description: Each bid must be accompanied by a separate envelope containing the contractor's license and bid security. A bidder's bond must be executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety, conditioned that if the principal's bid is accepted and the contract awarded to the principal, the principal, within ten days after notice of the award, shall execute a contract in accordance with the terms of the bid and the bid bond and any condition of the governing body. A countersignature of a bid bond is not required under this section. If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within the ten days allowed, the bidder's bond must be forfeited to the governing body and the project awarded to the next lowest responsible bidder. The bidder shall be licensed for the full amount of the bid as required by section 43-07-12 of the NDCC. Bids that do not fully comply with requirements of NDCC 48-01.2-05 are considered deficient and will be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately. All Bids will be made on the basis of cash payment for such work and materials. All Bidders are invited to be present at the public opening of the Bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interests of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to hold the three (3) low Bids for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date of the Bid opening to complete financial arrangements.
