for the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment for the renovation and construction of the south main parking lot for the Ravenna Public Schools, in Ravenna, Nebraska as per the drawings and specifications now on file at the High School, Office for Ravenna Public Schools. Said Proposals will be publically opened and read aloud and tabulated immediately following in the office area of the high school. Envelopes containing the Bid shall be marked as follows: RAVENNA PUBLIC SCHOOLS PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS 2021 No Bid shall be withdrawn after opening the bids without the consent of the Ravenna Public Schools for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for closing bids. Ravenna Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid. Bids received after the specified time of closing will be returned unopened. The Ravenna Public Schools Parking Lot Improvements 2021 project includes the removal and replacement of six inch thick (6 ) concrete pavement for the main parking lot area south of the high school and grade school areas. This project consists of the removal of 6,846 sq ft of 6 concrete pavement, 3,693 sq ft of 4 concrete sidewalk and6,720 sq ft of green space for the construction of new student drop off/ pick lanes and bus drop off/ loading zones. The construction of a new student drop off/ pick up zone consisting of 5,395 sq ft of 6 concrete pavement and 1,724 sq ft of 4 concrete sidewalk. Pedestrian walkways with ADA ramps and striping along with break-away bollards will be included in this project. A new bus drop off/ pick up zone will be constructed as well and shall consist of 5,081 sf ft of 6 concrete pavement and 2,017 sq ft of 4 concrete sidewalk. An additional 6,722 sq ft of 6 concrete pavement will be added in the grassed median out in front of the school to add additional parking stalls for the facility. Attention of BIDDERS is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246. Substantial completion and final completion for both the student drop offick up zone and the bus load/ unloading zone are scheduled for August 12, 2021. The parking lot addition can be coordinated to be completed later in the fall. Work will be completed under various Bids for the various components of the project. Contract Documents: All work shall be furnished in strict accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Brungardt Engineering, LLC, 19 W Calle de Arcos, Tempe, Arizona, 85284. Bids will only be received upon the printed Proposal Forms furnished through the Engineer. Bid Security: Bid Security is required to be submitted with the Bid Proposal Form. Make bid security payable to the Ravenna Public Schools in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Lump Sum Bid Amount. Bid Security shall be of the following: Cashier s Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond issued by the Surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Nebraska. Any agent signing a bid bond on behalf of the Surety must attach a Power of Attorney effectively evidencing the agent s authority to bind the Surety to the performance of the Bid Bond. Performance Bond: The Contractor shall be required to furnish acceptable bonds to complete the work and pay for all labor and materials used. Bonds shall be in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the Contract. Prior to the beginning of work, completed copies of the CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, AIA Document G705 shall be submitted to the Owner and Engineer. All products and manufacturers shall be as specified in the project manual. Any requested changes in products or manufacturers shall be submitted to the Engineer seven (7) days prior to the bid date. Requested changes that have been approved will be included in an addendum. Any requested changes not included in an addendum are to be considered as not approved. The Owner reserves the right to negotiate these proposed Voluntary Alternatives only with the apparent low bidder on the Base Bid(s) and Alternate(s).
