Location: Boston Project Type: Highway - Lighting MASSDOT - Lighting Repairs and Improvements in the Prudential Tunnel P.V. = $32,266,000.00 M/WBE Participation Goal- 14 % Labor participation goals for this Project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women Remove existing luminaires and wireways including proper disposal of light pipe supplemental HID lighting, and High Intensity Discharge lamps as described in the Special Provisions. o Remove and dispose of existing structural supports. o Furnish and install new structural supports for conduits, junction boxes and tunnel luminaires for each mounting type as shown on the plans. Hardware shall be StainlessSteel 316. All threaded rods, luminaire mounting, and any other use of stainless-steel nuts shall utilize NYLOC nuts. o Repair tunnel wall in areas receiving new supports as necessary and as directed by the Engineer. o Furnish and install new LED tunnel luminaires in accordance with Manufacturer's installation requirements. o Inspect all stanchion supports and mounting anchors identified for re-use. Additional anchors shall be provided and installed as approved by the Engineer. o Rebuild pedestal/foundation supports for existing stanchions as needed. o Provide and install Phenolic type XW conduits with XHHW-2 wires for normal lighting in I-90 tunnel and ramps A, B and D. o Provide and install 2 Hr fire rated Phenolic type XW conduit with VitaLink 300 (RHW2) or approved equal for standby lighting in I-90 tunnel and ramps A, B and D. o Provide and install RGS conduits with new XHHW-2 wires for normal lighting circuits within fan chamber 1. o Provide and install RGS conduits with RHW-2 wires for standby circuits up to contactor panels within fan chamber 1. o Provide and install Phenolic type XW conduits with XHHW-2 wires from contactor panels to the tunnel wall for normal lighting within fan chamber 1. o Provide and Install Phenolic type XW conduit with VitaLink 300 (RHW-2) or approved equal from contactor panels to the tunnel wall for standby lighting within fan chamber 1. Provide and install new electrical raceways/conduits, pull and junction boxes for the new lighting system including separate raceways for standby and normal power. Exposed standby wiring shall be LSZH jacketed MC type fire resistant cable. o Provide and install 316 SS LiquidTite Flexible Metal conduit whips with three AWG#10 wires to each normal lighting L1 and L3 luminaires from NEMA 4X junction boxes. o Provide and install VITALink 2-Hour Fire Rated 3/C AWG#12 MC Power Cable whips to each standby L2 lighting luminaire from each unique standby NEMA 4X junction box specific to the phenolic conduit manufacturer selected. o Install tunnel lighting control system as described in the Special Provisions and as shown on the plans. o All cables installed in the tunnel shall have a VW-1 rating. o Construct New Electrical Room within Fan Chamber 1. The work shall include furnishing all labor, material, equipment necessary for architectural, structural, structural repairs, lighting and mechanical work required to create an electrical room and perform repairs inside Fan Chamber 1. o Provide all electrical materials (conduit, wiring etc) and installation for HVAC and UPS/Battery related equipment including ATC/SCADA controls work associated with ventilation and gas monitoring in the electrical room of Fan Chamber one. Provide and connect all control points to the nearest RIO panel after coordinating with MassDOT engineers.
