Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

A certified check or bid bond payable to or naming as obligee Borough of Punxsutawney in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount must be deposited with the proposal. Bidders must submit with their bids the Non-Collusion Affidavit contained in the contract documents. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for performance and payment bonds in the full amount of the contract and submit evidence of its qualifications to perform the work. The contact/project engineer is Andy Arnold and the estimate is $125,000.00. The Successful Bidder will be required to execute the Agreement and to furnish performance and payment bonds, each of said bonds to be in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, all in the respective forms provided in the Bidding Documents. The Contractor also will be required to furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Bidding Documents. All bonds shall be in the form prescribed in the Contract Documents and shall be executed by sureties as are named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (amended ) by the Audit Staff, Bureau of Government Financial Operations, U.S. Treasury Department. Notice is hereby given to bidders that this project is funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's CDBG Program. No less than minimum wages as required by the Davis-Bacon Act and listed in the Contract Documents must be paid to all employees on this project. The bidder must also strive to meet the goals for minority and female participation in the aggregate on-site construction work force. These goals are 5% for minorities and 3% for women. Bidders must document their efforts to solicit MBE/WBE and Section 3 participation on Form STD 286 which is provided in the Contract Documents. Documentation of solicitations must be submitted with the bid. Minority-owned and Woman-owned contractors are also encouraged to submit bids. Refer to Section 00900 - "General Conditions Part III - Federal Requirements" of the Contract Documents. This contract is also subject to the Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701U which purpose is to ensure that employment and economic opportunities be directed to low income persons, particularly those receiving HUD assistance for housing. Jefferson County Section 3 eligible businesses are encouraged to contact the Jefferson County Department of Development for placement onto the County's Section 3 Business Listing. Proposal envelope must be sealed and clearly marked, "Proposal for Contract No. CV-C20-01: Borough of Punxsutawney - Community Center's Fitness Center Improvements Re-Bid," and bear the name and address of the Bidder. No bids may be withdrawn, except when the bidder meets the requirements of Act No. 4 of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania Senate Bill 793, Printers No. 1655. The Borough of Punxsutawney reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality and to award the contract as may be deemed by the Borough to be in their best interest.
