Demolition, site work, paving and addition to a mixed-use development in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
During the bidding period, submit questions in writing to the person named below by Monday March 14th at 1:00 pm. The project scope of work consists of a major remodel to an existing 24,000 sf, educational building, garage addition on the east side, restroom expansion near the core of the building, minor exterior building improvements, and site expansion/improvements. This project for Platte County Health Department will provide new clinical space for more than half of the existing building area with the remainder for administrative and assembly purposes. The existing building is VN and sprinkled with a separation between it and the garage addition. In the design process, there was an attempt to move as few sprinkler heads as possible in the remodel, however there will be a need for a licensed fire and sprinkler company. The garage addition will be a 1900 SF pre-engineered garage addition that will include 4" clad wall panels, R24 standing seam roof panels, pedestrian door, overhead doors, windows and louvered vent. The garage will not have sprinklers. The restroom expansion will require a concrete "hardbox" that penetrates the existing exterior wall near the core of the building and will have a storm rated door at public access. A parking lot and drive expansion on the east side of the building will include elements like a storm water retention pond, environmental, piping, etc. as a part of the scope. A new trash enclosure will be included in this expansion. The only fencing scheduled to be removed is if it is in the way of construction on this project. The south wing of the building will be a major remodel that will turn previously large pre-school classrooms into a clinic area. The structure of this building follows the existing hall walls which have been maintained as much as possible. The southern side of the east wing will be primarily W.I.C. and clinic space. The northern side of the east wing will be office space. The northern side of the west wing will be administrative office space. The southern side of the west wing will be used for assembly purposes with the western portion to be un-remodeled. Other areas that will not be part of the remodel scope of work include the existing commercial grade kitchen, laundry room, building utility rooms. The southeast corner of the east wing will be demo only. Q&A end date:Tuesday March 15th at 5:00
