Replacement/installation of roadside crash system and guiderail at multiple locations on the WR Allen Expressway. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for Allen Road Crash System and Guiderail Design Service has closed at the owner. Submissions are being reviewed with an award expected late 2022/early 2023 by the City of Toronto. The prospective suppliers will provide a Needs Assessment & Detailed Design of Crash System Replacement and New Guiderail Installation at Multiple Locations on City's Expressways. The purpose of this RFP is to retain a consultant to undertake the needs assessment, system selection, detailed design, construction specification, and cost estimation for the replacement/installation of roadside crash system and guiderail at multiple locations on the WR Allen Expressway, in order to prepare the tender document to support the future procurement and installation/construction of crash system and guiderail at those locations in a separate contract/project. Pending further consultation with more stakeholders, consideration may also be given to locations on the other City expressways (e.g., DVP and Highway 2A) and may be included in this assignment as part of the base scope or optional extensions. The term of the agreement is to be for a period of one (1) year, with an option in favour of the City to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional two (2) separate one (1) year period. The renewal will be based on the performance of the selected Supplier during the initial period of the contract.
