Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Independence, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The proposed Work is generally described as follows: Removal and replacement of the existing bowl assemblies, discharge column, and mechanical seal on the vertical turbine pump No. 2 at Richardson Road Pump Station, located at 3500 block of Richardson Road, Independence, Kentucky, 41051. The work will also include connection of the new discharge column to the existing steel discharge "tee" head, reconnection to the existing motor and all associated electrical work, and painting. All Bids must be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Bidding Documents on file. Bids will be received on a lump sum basis as described in the Contract Documents. Bid security, in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond (insuring/bonding company shall be rated "A" by AM Best), must accompany each Bid. Evaluation of Bids and the awarding of a final contract are subject to the reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders pursuant to KRS 45A490 to 45A.494 and (KAR 200 5:400). Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, incomplete, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, to waive informalities, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the apparent Successful Bidder to such an extent as may be determined by Owner. On request 72 hours in advance, Owner will provide each Bidder access to the site to conduct such investigations and tests as each Bidder deems necessary for submission of a Bid. Minority Bidders are encouraged to bid. Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after the day of bid opening or for such longer period of time to which a Bidder may agree in writing upon request of the Owner. If a Contract is to be awarded, the Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award during the period of time during which the Successful Bidder's bid remains subject to acceptance.
