Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 19,000-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The City of Pitt Meadows is inviting responses from general contractors (Respondents) with experience in constructing post-disaster structures, including RCMP detachments, public safety projects, and detention centres interested in prequalifying for participation in the tender of a new RCMP detachment. The site of the new RCMP detachment is located at 12474/12484/12492 Harris Rd, Pitt Meadows, BC, which currently houses the partially decommissioned Athletic Building, the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery, and select amenities associated with the adjacent baseball diamond. The Art Gallery structure will be relocated by others prior to the start of construction, with the remaining amenities are to be demolished as part of the scope of services. The general scope of work involves the construction of a new 2-storey RCMP detachment, approximately 1,700 m2 (18,300SF). The building will contain facilities such as: A public lobby; A volunteer and flex space; A multi-purpose room; Administrative areas; Operational areas, including a cell block with three cells; Offices; Meeting rooms; A kitchen; Washrooms, locker room, and showers; Storage and utility rooms; Health and wellness facilities; Holding areas; A secure parking compound; and Garages. Other work will include, but not necessarily be limited to: demolition and disposal of existing structures and amenities on site, site clearing and preparation, utilities, concrete foundation, building structure including mass timber and steel construction, building components including electrical, mechanical, and envelope, landscaping including asphalt and concrete pathways and driveways, and various other related works. The building will be designed to meet the Post Disaster Standards as required by the applicable codes, as well as all RCMP requirements.
