The work covered by the plans and specifications includes: Cured-in-place lining of 1,919 feet of 8" Vitrified Clay Pipe and the cured-in-place lining of 37 sanitary laterals up to the right of way or proposed cleanout. Replacement of 100 feet of 8" Vitrified Clay Pipe with 8" PVC SDR 26 Conduit. Replacement of existing sanitary laterals in lieu of lining at the direction of the LCDU Engieer if the existing laterals are found to be Orangeburg pipe or are structurally inadequate to be used as a host pipe. The installation of 33 cut-in tee cleanouts. The project also includes the rehabilitation of six sanitary manholes. Pavement restoration for manhole rehabilitation and pipe replacements shall consist of 1-1/2 inches of ODOT Item 441, Surface Course over 2 inches of ODOT Item 441, Intermediate Course over 6 inches of ODOT Item 301, Asphalt Concrete and existing subbase. All work under this contract shall be completed within 90 days of Notice to Proceed. Bids shall be subject to the conditions that the right is reserved to hold bids for a period not longer than sixty (60) days after date of bid opening and/or to award the contract at any time during said period. The successful bidder will be required to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award of the work to him/her, and he/she shall furnish acceptable bond or surety, if not filed previously to the satisfaction of the County of Lake, Ohio for the faithful performance of said contract in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid. In case of failure to execute the contract as stated or to furnish bond and/or surety, the bidder shall be considered to have abandoned the contract and is then liable for the difference between his/her bid and the next lowest bid, not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the amount bid.
