Trades are let on this project. The original solicitation is included below: Replacement of existing middle school with new facility that will be phased construction. Project also consists of exterior improvements to include football field. Existing campus will be occupied during construction of new facility. Demolition and site amenities will take place after completion of new facility. The Project consists of an approximately 190,200 square foot, new one-story replacement Middle School for Del Valle ISD, at the site of the existing Del Valle Middle School, located in Del Valle, Texas, as shown on Contract Documents prepared by Stantec. Demolition of the existing Middle school is part of the work. The Work consists of Civil, Landscape, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Kitchen requirements as indicated in the drawings and specifications. Under consideration in this study is the reconstruction of the Del Valle Middle School campus located at 5500 Ross Road, approximately 0.4 mile north of its intersection with Pearce Lane in Del Valle, Texas. The proposed one or two-story building is anticipated to have a gross square footage of about 160,000 sq ft. Relatively moderate structural loads are anticipated to be carried by the foundation system. Floor systems consisting of slabs-on-ground or slabs-on-fill are expected to be preferred, provided expansive soil-related vertical movements will not cause structural performance concerns. Other planned improvements include a track, athletic fields, tennis courts, and detention ponds. Ancillary drive and parking pavements are also associated with this development. It is our understanding that at the time of this study, site grading plans were not yet available. The recommendations presented in this report were prepared with the assumption that final grade for the building structure will be within plus or minus 1 ft of existing grades. The project site is a tract of developed land located at 5500 Ross Road in Del Valle, Texas. The site is a school campusthat is grass-covered where not developed. Existing structuresinclude the Del Valle Middle School building, an athletic track and field, tennis courts, asphalt pavement, and concrete flatwork. There are likely to be a significant number of existing utilities associated with the existing middle school development at this site. The presence of buried utilities should be anticipated during construction.
