Tuscaloosa County Commission seeks the proposals of a professional architectural firms who have the knowledge, experience, and expertise to provide pre- and post-award services for FEMA funded community safe room project. Services may include, but are not limited to, preparing preliminary architectural report, planning, design, cost estimating, bidding, contracting, construction oversight, quality control, and project closeout. The proposed project involves design and construction of a stand-alone dual-purpose FEMA-rated community safe room in Tuscaloosa County. The safe room will be designed and constructed to meet FEMA Publication 361 criteria. The County requires design work experience based on FEMA 361. Significant additional consideration will be given to firms with design experience related to FEMA safe room projects. All proposals will be evaluated and rated based on the written document and any supplemental information which is submitted by the respective firm. It will not be necessary for the architect or representatives to attend the meeting at which the proposals are considered. Any questions by the firm related to this RFP should be submitted in writing along with the firm's proposal. In the interest of fairness and in order to maintain impartiality, the County may not respond to questions from individual firms during the RFP process. Firms are required to follow the instructions contained in the County's RFP document.
