Renovation of an educational facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work is to replace one-for-one (in tonnage) several HVAC systems and to remove existing HVAC for the Band Room and provide a new split system HVAC unit. The replacement units include two (2) water source heat pump package units with 2 standard Dx Cooling w/ gas heat package units serving the Gym, one split system heat pump for the stage and one Dx Heat Pump package unit for the Auditorium area. There is also some architectural scope to in-fill holes left in the exterior wall by the removal of the HVAC units in the Band Room and an exterior mechanical room door that needs replacing. Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the State laws governing their respective trades and that North Carolina General Statute 87 will be observed in receiving and awarding contracts.Either party may terminate the contract for any reason with 90-days written notice. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer an original bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Faxed bid bonds will not be required. Said deposit shall be retained by the owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A performance bond and payment bond will be required by the awarded contractor.5.No bid may be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of 60 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest to the school. The CHCCS reserves the right to reissue the RFP.6. Proposals shall be made only on the form provided herein with all blank spaces for bids properly filled in and all signatures properly executed. Provide three(3) original Proposal and Contract forms when bid is submitted.7.Single bids will be received for the Mechanical Construction. The Mechanical Contractor shall be the project expediter.The Mechanical Contractor shall submit one bid for all work on project.
