The City of Princeton Public Works Department is seeking sealed bids for the 2021 Street Paving Project. The project is estimated to require approximately 409 tons of asphalt for seven various street locations throughout the City. The Princeton City Council reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive any informality in the bidding process and accept the bid that is in the best interests of the City of Princeton. The burning of joints will not be made on an individual basis but shall be included in the bid pricing. All asphaltic concrete used shall be West Virginia Department of Transportation or Virginia Department of Transportation wearing course 1 except that base asphalt will be used on gravel streets that are indicated as such. Tack coat must be applied to all areas that will be paved and be WV Department of Transportation or Virginia Department of Transportation approved. In any areas that are paved, existing asphalt curbs must be maintained or asphalt added to maintain curbing effect. Milling will be required as indicated and where needed to maintain curbs or keep level with adjacent parking lots. Beginning and ending joints, as well as intersections will be milled as necessary to maintain smooth transitions. Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, and tools necessary for the satisfactory completion of the project, including mobilization in bid pricing. Traffic control shall be the responsibility of contractor.
