The Town of Weston, Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for Burchard Park Infield Renovations including renovations to the infield playing surfaces of 3 little league sized fields and 2 softball sized fields. Every Bid shall be accompanied by cash; a bid bond; or a certified check; or a treasurer check; or a cashier check; issued by a responsible bank or trust company, made payable to the Town of Weston, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount. A labor and materials payment bond in an amount equal to fifty (50%) percent of the total amount of the contract price with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be required upon contract award. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Location and Work to be Done The Work consists of renovation of the infield playing surfaces to 5 fields, including 3 little league sized fields and 2 softball sized fields and all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications and conceptual plans attached hereto. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Architect/Engineer, and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified. The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item.
