Renovation of an educational facility in Dekalb, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The work includes for the complete removal of all layers of the existing roofing systems and replacement with new KEE/PVC roofing systems. In order to replace the existing roof systems, the existing mechanical equipment mounted on the roofs shall be temporarily disconnected, carefully removed, salvaged, and reinstalled and reconnected following the installation of the new roof. New curbs and supports for the equipment on the new roofs are included. Existing deteriorated parapet walls around the perimeter of the building are to be disassembled, stone salvaged, and rebuilt with new masonry back-up. Trades included but not limited to: Selective Demolition, Cast-In-Place Concrete, Masonry, Roofing, Exterior Painting, Plumbing, HVAC, & Electrical *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Northern Illinois University - DeKalb, is a 96-building facility established in 1895. The Swen Parson Hall (U1040) is a 158,987 square foot, 10-story building established in 1952. The scope of work provides for replacement of the Swen Parson Hall's flat roof areas and includes exterior stone and masonry repairs, including but limited to, perimeter fa9ades and roof parapets. The flat roof systems have saturated roof insulation and related degraded stone parapet walls involving stone displacement and falling debris. A combined MBE/WBE goal of 20 percent is applicable to the A/E team. Some level of participation from both MBE and WBE firms is required to satisfy this goal (this requiresincluding one or more MBE AND one or more WBE firms on the team). A VBE/PBE goal of 3 percent is applicable to the A/E team. The Illinois Works Jobs Program Act Apprenticeship Initiative will apply to all prevailing wage eligible work performed on this project. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for September 22, 2021. PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIRED: $1,250,000 APPROPRIATED AMOUNT: $5,138,200 ESTIMATED TOTAL PROJECT COST: $5,138,200 Method of Contractor selection has not been determined at this point of time. The participation goal percentages on the amount of the contract awarded by CDB for this project are: 20% MBE, 5% WBE, 2% PBE/VBE
