Renovation of a mixed-use development in Consort, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
AThis interior portion of the project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the front counter area, swapping the locations of the kitchen and interview room and refreshing two washrooms on the main floor of the Government of Canada building located in Consort, Alberta. The exterior portion of the project involves upgrading the roofing system and upgrading the existing parking lot. The work includes the demolition of the existing front counter barrier and glass partition. Interior: A new anti-vault counter barrier including all millwork is to be installed. Approximately 40 square meters of flooring is to be removed and replaced with new flooring. New flooring will be a mixture of sheet flooring, tile and carpet tile depending on where the new flooring is being installed. Remove approximately 8 meters of wall paneling from reception and vestibule areas and prepare the area for new finishes. A portion of the existing wall will be cut to allow for the installation of a new STC rated door. Remove existing washroom fixtures and flooring from two washrooms prepare walls and floors to receive new fixtures and finishes. Swap the kitchen/multi-purpose room and interivew room. Kitchen/Multi-purpose room: Remove all cabinets, sink and associated plumbing. Remove existing door and prepare opening to receive a new door. Interview Room: Remove approximately 4 meters of fabric panels to be re-located in room swap. Remove existing partition and extend the wall out approximately .5 meters. Install new millwork, sink, plumbing into the new kitchen/multi-purpose room. Other interior work involved is the installation of new ceiling tiles, painting, new doors and hardware, moving electrical, plumbing and installing a bench in the front lobby. Exterior: Replace existing roof in its entirety including associated membranes, gutters and downspouts. Roof area is 260 square meters. Upgrade the existing parking lot which has an approximate area of 720 square meters by creating a second point of egress, enlarging the parking lot, installing new curbs and sidewalks, relocating the existing sign and electrical and providing better accessibility.
