Renovation of a water / sewer project in Evansville, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The work for which bids are to be received consists of: Scope consists of rehabilitation of Pumps and Motors in the High Service Pump Station #3 building at the Water Filtration Plant located at 1301 Waterworks Road, Evansville, Indiana 47713. Work includes rebuilding the #8 High Service Pump, rebuilding or replacement of the #9 High Service Motor Eddy Current Clutch, rebuilding the #10 High Service Pump and Motor. The actuators on the pump discharge valves are to be replaced with an option to replace the discharge valves also. The actuator uninterruptible power supply (UPS) shall be replaced. Finally, intake air louvers shall be replaced. Work shall also include all supervision, equipment, coordination with plant operations and other contractors, flushing, disinfecting, testing and all appurtenances necessary to complete the work shown in the Drawings and Specifications. All work must be ready for satisfactory and continuous operation, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. The Contractor shall be responsible for all work shown on the plans and described in the specifications pertaining to the Itemized Base Bid, regardless of the installation method chosen. The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder (or bidders), all to the advantage of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility, or to reject all Proposals. Background - High Service Station 3 consists of High Service Pumps 8, 9, and 10. These pumps send finished water from the clear wells to the distribution system for use by customers. The pumps are vertical turbine pumps with various motors. HSP #8 has a 480 volt Variable Speed Drive Motor. HSP #9 has a 480 volt Eddy Current Drive to vary its speed. HSP #10 has a 4160 volt fixed speed motor. B. The Contract work provides for the following scope of work for the High Service Station 3 located at the Water Filtration Plant with an address of 1301 Waterworks Road, Evansville, IN. In general, the scope of work is as follows Mobilize equipment, material, and personnel onto the site at different stages as needed to progress the project in a timely and coordinated manner. Demobilize equipment, leftover material or waste, and personnel from job site. o For HSP #8, perform the following in accordance with specifications (Work to be done after work on HSP #9 and HSP #10.) o Open Roof Hatch for access to pump and motor (close when not in use and re-secure at end of project ensuring weather tightness.) o Disconnect and set in protected area the newly rebuilt motor. o Pull the pump and send off-site for rebuild. o Install new actuator on discharge valve. o Paint Pump Base and Thimble keeping debris and material out of finished water. o Reinstall Pump and Motor, test and place in service. o Protect adjacent existing EWSU property and equipment. o For HSP #9, perform the following in accordance with specifications o Open Roof Hatch for access to pump and motor (close when not in use and re-secure at end of project ensuring weather tightness.) o Disconnect, test, and set in protected area the motor. o Rebuild or Replace Eddy Current Clutch o Provide or reconnect shut-off sequence and alarm for loss of eddy current clutch/drive in control panel. Ensure communication of shut-off and alarm with SCADA system o Install new actuator on discharge valve. o Paint exposed pump base o Reinstall Motor and Eddy Current Clutch to Pump, test and place in service o For HSP #10, perform the following in accordance with specifications (Work to be done first in sequence.) o Open Roof Hatch for access to pump and motor (close when not in use and re-secure at end of project ensuring weather tightness.) o Disconnect and Rebuild motor. o Pull the pump and send off-site for rebuild. o Install new actuator on discharge valve. o Paint Pump Base and Thimble keeping debris and material out of finished water. o Reinstall Pump and Motor, test and place in service. o Protect adjacent existing EWSU property and equipment. o Remove old (96" W x 80" H) Louvers and replace with newly installed in kind Ruskin CD-50 Louvers with actuator to be wired to coordinate with ventilation system. Existing mesh screen and fixed louvers to be cleaned and protected. o Contractor to include resources within bid to obtain e-Builder licenses to execute the project as outlined in Section 00800. All submittals, RFI's, Pay Applications, etc. will be processed through e-Builder. Contractor shall include the cost for said license(s) in their General Conditions.
