Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Lawrence, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for the renovation of a swimming pool.

The South Park Wading Pool is a small, traditional, zero-depth wading pool last updated in 2000. This aging facility would better serve the community by being converted into a splash pad. The current location including restroom facilities would be completely re-used. Only the pool basin and circulation/chemical system would be replaced and include interactive water play features, shade structures and enhanced seating. This project would expand the usable season for this aquatic facility and will eliminate the need to staff the wading pool during the summer months of operation As of November 29, 2023, this project is included in the City of Lawrence's FY 2024-2028 CIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
