Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Phoenix, Arizona. Completed plans call for the construction of a 15,000-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a 15,000-square-foot fire / police facility.
The owner has selected Core Construction, Inc. as Construction Manager. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified contractor to provide preconstruction services and complete construction services for the Fire Station 62 Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) project. The project includes construction of a one-story fire station with approximately 15,000 gross square feet. It will have four apparatus bays and 16 dorms, along with the typical spaces associated with a fire station of this size - kitchen, dining, day room individual restrooms, and exercise space. A community/meeting room for staff and public use may become part of the scope. The scope of work will also included site development, parking, hardscape, landscape, irrigation, security lighting and other elements as required. The architectural design intent is for a fire station that blends in with the surrounding Estrella Village community. The finish materials and aesthetics will be a compliment to the surrounding community and shall incorporate the intent of the City of Phoenix Estrella Village Master Plan. This project will require the construction of the new Fire Station No. 62 to be built on City of Phoenix owned property behind the Target Center at the Pecan Promenade shopping center. The specific site location has not been determined at the time of this request. The proposed site will be 3.5 acres minimum in size, relatively square in shape, and have some existing setbacks and easements that will affect the overall use and placement of buildings and driveways. The project shall incorporate previously utilized methodologies, including but not limited to; Insulated Concrete Forms, Structural Insulated Panel System, Recycled Product Content, SEER, EER, and the USGBC V4.1 New Construction Reference Guide.
