As of April 27, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. This project has carried over into the City of Shawnee Capital Improvement Plan 2022-2032. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Nieman Road is a minor arterial street, 2.0 miles in length. This segment of Nieman Road is a 4 lanes wide with left turns at the major intersections, and includes curbs, sidewalks, asphaltic pavement, street lighting, and storm sewers. This project will include removal and replacement of deteriorated curb and sidewalk/ADA ramps, upgrading/repair of storm drainage facilities, mill and overlay of asphalt surface, new pavement markings, and retrofit new LED streetlight luminaires (as needed). This project was included on the CIP because this segment of Quivira Road has deteriorated significantly and scored low when reviewing street for the annual street maintenance program. In addition, there are several locations along the corridor where storm sewer has severely deteriorated. Staff applied for CARS funding to provide 50% of the construction costs. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
