Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Shawnee, Kansas. Completed plans call for the construction of a museum; and for site work for a museum.

Bid security in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. The contract will be awarded by the Governing Body of the Owner at the complete and sole discretion of the Governing Body. The project represents the construction of a new facility for the City of Shawnee within the Shawnee Town 1929 site boundaries for a Chapel. The building will be new construction replicated in a historic Gothic style. The building will be utilized as a leasable facility and will be conditioned year round with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing utilities. The building footprint is approximately 36'-3" wide (east - west) and 58-0" deep (north-south) with a roofline at 34-4" and an extended steeple height at the north elevation of 46'-4". The building is wood framing with interior steel supports and shop fabricated wood trusses with integral framing for the steeple and altar. The exterior finish is cementitious hardi-panel board and batten and lap siding with accent trim pieces. The steeple integrates false wood louvers with one at the west requiring an opening for fresh air intake . The roof will be asphalt shingles with a granular finish and will have galvanized half round gutters with round downspouts. Windows and doors will be custom wood fabrications. The front entrance doors integrate tempered glazing vision panels. The windows are insulated fixed windows with custom arched openings. The restroom and office will have obscure glazing with the lower sections at the restroom being a spandrel glazing to conceal interior build out. Interior finishes consist of stamped concrete flooring throughout with tile at the restroom, tile wainscot at the restroom walls, and bead board paneling at the Foyer, Chapel, and Altar walls and ceiling. The scope covers the above and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. A Performance and Maintenance Bond, a separate Statutory Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Bidder's questions must be issued to the Architect in writing no later than March 8, 2024 at 12:00 pm (noon).
