The apparent low bidder withdrew their bid. They will be rebidding this project no updates on when they will. The intent of this project is to demolish the existing Administration Building at Lanier Filter Plant, remove all materials associated with the building from the site, remediate risks from hazardous materials, dispose of all materials in a legal and safe manner, and reclaim the land that it currently occupies. The building was constructed in the mid-1970s. Chrysotile asbestos and lead paint have been identified within the building. The hazardous materials reports are included with the technical specification bid documents. The gateway canopy on the entrance road will also be demolished as part of this project. All utility disconnects have been completed; for this reason the General Contractor's license requirements has been waived. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bids in the case of Corporations not chartered in Georgia, must be accompanied by proper certification stating that said Corporation is authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. The County will award the Contract to the lowest "qualified" bidder, subject with the Owner's right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interests. With limited response, Gwinnett County reserves the right to extend the solicitation opening date as appropriate in order to assure a competitive procurement process.
