Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Wingham, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; and parking garage.

Renovations to the existing Fire Station facility for two (2) washrooms and shower facilities. The current female washroom does not have showers and as per the Townships Cancer Prevention Policy, firefighters are required to shower after all structure fires before leaving the firehall. The proposed project includes updating all fixtures and plumbing while reconfiguring the current footprint to make the washrooms accessible and allowing space for new showers in both washrooms. The needed upgrades to the Wingham Fire Station encompass the need for COVID physical distancing and providing areas for hygienic requirements. The needed upgrades will also be expected to meet AODA standards. TIMELINE: Construction is underway; completion Q1 2024.
