The plant can currently accommodate 26.5 million gallons per day (MGD). The plant is permitted to expand to 34 MGD, according to Jeff Corley, Concord's water resources director, but the expansion is years away from being completed. The first expansion phase of the Rocky River plant will take capacity to 30 MGD and is expected to be completed in spring 2024. The next phase would take capacity to 34 MGD and is targeted for a spring 2027 completion. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified and interested firms to provide progressive design-build services for the Phased Expansion of the Rocky River Regional WWTP (Project). The Project is projected to be funded with WSACC funds and borrowings and Charlotte Water funds; however, WSACC will continue to pursue any state, federal, or other grant funds that may become available. WSACC intends to select a qualified firm or team to provide progressive design-build services based on the project details and evaluation criteria listed in the detailed Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
