The North Shore Water Reclamation District hereby gives notice that sealed Bids will be received for the FY22 Heating and Ventilation Modifications at the Clavey Rd, Gurnee, and Waukegan Water Reclamation Facilities (WRFs) and the Winthrop Harbor (PS-1), North Chicago (PS-4), Upper Skokie Valley (PS-5), and the Lake Bluff (PS-6) Pumping Stations. The work generally consists of: Replacement of heating and ventilation units, heating units, actuated dampers, replacement and modifications of ducts, replacement of flexible connections between HV units and ductwork, replacement of thermostats, replacement of combustion air intake and exhaust vents and gas connections. Bid Security in the amount of not less than 5% of the Bid shall accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in an amount equal to the Contract Price. LEGAL PROVISIONS: CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors shall conform to the "Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act", (820 ILCS 265/1 et seq.); and with the provisions of 29 CFR Part 470. WAGE RATES: This Contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires CONTRACTORS and Subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, waive informalities in bidding, or to accept the Bid or Bids, which best serves the interests of the OWNER. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 120 days after the scheduled opening of the bids without the consent of OWNER.
