High Resolution Site Characterization (HRSC) Assessment Investigations at Underground Storage Tank Facilities The Underground Storage Tank (UST) Management Division (UST Division) of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is seeking services to implement High-Resolution Site Characterization (HRSC) technologies to determine the subsurface geology as well as the horizontal and vertical extent of free product and petroleum chemicals of concern (CoC) released from regulated underground storage tank systems in accordance with predefined standard operating procedures and performance standards for all facilities. HRSC consists of strategies and techniques using scale-appropriate measurement and sample density to define contaminant distributions, and the physical context in which they reside, with greater certainty thereby supporting faster and more effective site cleanup. HRSC is completed utilizing a number of down-hole profiling tools to collect specific real time data from the subsurface. The amount of data collected varies with each facility. Qualified interpretation by an experienced practitioner is paramount due to the complexity of the data collected from various innovative profiling tools and the possibility of false positive data Start date: 09/13/2021 End date: Nine (9) months from the date of award
