The existing Jefferson Avenue 8-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) gravity sewer was built in 1981 to conveys sewerage from the retail and commercial area between Winchester Road and Overland Drive in City of Temecula (Attachment A). Located on Jefferson Ave., north of Overland Drive intersection, in front of 27600 and 27622 Jefferson Ave., this 8-inch of 360+- linear feet of VCP sewer contains an approximately 20-foot section of ductile iron (DI) pipe transition encased with concrete, and has 4 sewer service laterals. From recent sewer cleaning and inspection, the video inspection showed corrosion and debris built-up within this DI pipe transition. This 8-inch sewer DI transition is adjacent to conflicting utilities of high-pressure gasline and a shallow box culvert/storm drain. Thus, District desiresto utilize Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) lining for this project, instead of excavating to replace this DI transition pipe.
