Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Project funded by Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund Grant from U.S. Dept of the Interior, National Park Service, administered by SC Dept of Archives & History. At Middleton Place, demolish and replace the existing mill pond outfall box culvert to river; and make internal & external repairs to the Old Mill masonry walls and foundation. Construction Cost Range: $200,000-$300,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The scope of work of this project is divided into two parts of work: 1. Part 1 - Old Mill Outfall Culvert Replacement: This scope of work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, draining the existing ponds, install two temporary coffer dams, provide and operate a temporary bypass/dewatering pump system to maintain water level in the pond, the demolition and replacement of the existing rectangular concrete box culvert located east of the Old Mill. The work will include demolition of the existing culvert, installation of new connecting junction box structurer, a 24" diameter Mill Pond discharge pipe with control valve, a new 96 feet of 4'x4' reinforced concrete box culvert, from the mill pond outlet flume to the Ashley River, erosion control features, tree clearing, regrading and miscellaneous site repairs and appurtenances, vegetative (grassing) stabilization of disturbed areas not re-paved; and other associated work to provide usable, functioning facilities to the Owner. 2. Part 2 - Old Mill Building Maintenance Repairs: This scope includes internal and external structural repairs to the existing Mill building masonry walls and foundations. This includes masonry deconstruction and rebuild, crack and joint repairs, existing mortar joint cleaning and re-pointing, window and door caulk and repainting, and other repair work as indicated and noted in the documents.
