Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

The National Park Service (NPS), San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (SAFR), located in San Francisco County, California, has a requirement for the removal and replacement of ceiling tiles on the third floor of the Aquatic Park Bathhouse. This RFQ replaces RFQ 140P8622Q0007. The contractor shall provide all mobilization, labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, site rehabilitation, clean-up, and demobilization. The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to: 1. Ceiling: removal of existing adhered ceiling tiles, removal of existing adhesive on plaster substrate, preparation of the plaster substrate for new adhesive, and installation of new adhered acoustic ceiling tiles. 2. The removal of light fixtures, exits signs and other equipment/fixture components as required for ceiling removal/installation, and the reinstallation of such fixtures or components. 3. The work also includes measures to protect the art murals from contact, overpaint or any damage. Removal of such measures, with out damage to the art murals is part of this scope. The Government intends to award a single, fixed price contract. Award selection will be made on a Best Value determination made after consideration of price and factors other than price (Technical capability and past performance)as listed in the Request for Quotation (see Section M). Per the requirements of FAR 36.204, the project range is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 238390, with a corresponding size standard of $16.5 Million. The project is located in San Francisco County, CA. 1 DESCRIPTION: The Aquatic Park Bathhouse Building, also known as the Maritime Museum Building and the Sala Burton Building, is a major component of the Aquatic Park National Historic Landmark District and is known for its unique integration of interior architectural elements and full height interior wall murals. The murals are considered nationally significant works of art. The third floor is a large, single room with a coffered ceiling comprised of large plaster beams and acoustic ceiling tiles. The space is approximately 115 feet long by 40 feet wide. There are light fixtures and exit signs mounted to the ceiling tile areas of the ceiling and various conduit and fire/security devices mounted to the plaster beams. LOCATION: The Aquatic Park Bathhouse Building is located at 900 Beach Street in the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in San Francisco, California. SCOPE OF WORK: A. Ceiling: removal of existing adhered ceiling tiles, removal of existing adhesive on plaster substrate, preparation of the plaster substrate for new adhesive, and installation of new adhered acoustic ceiling tiles. Contractor's examination of the site: 1. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled during the solicitation phase. 2. All bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid site visit B. Before starting work, the Contractor shall verify and/or establish all existing conditions, dimensions, variation of wall plumb and square etc. at the site. Submit discrepancies discovered to Contracting Officer's Representative for interpretation before proceeding with associated work. C. Historic Fabric and Murals: The Third Floor walls and columns are decorated with murals painted directly on the plaster surfaces and the floor is a decorative terrazzo. These surfaces must be protected during all operations. D. Hazardous Materials: It is not expected that hazardous materials will be encountered in the Work. 1. The existing ceiling tiles and tile adhesive have been tested for asbestos and none was detected, see included report. 2. Due to the age of the existing finishes (prior to 1978), the Contractor shall assume that lead containing paint is present in the area of work unless test results prove otherwise. Comply with current federal, state and local regulations concerning the waste characterization, handling, containerization, transport, and disposal of lead. 3. If materials suspected of containing hazardous materials are encountered, do not disturb; immediately notify Contracting Officer. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
