Renovation of an educational facility in Nashville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
PROJECT 1 consists of removing existing 400 Amp S&C Fault Fiter fuses in existing 4.16kV S&C PMH Switches and install new 5kV, SMU-20 fuses and associated fuse clips in their place. PROJECT 2 consists of cleaning inside switches. Provide corrosion protection on inside of switches. PROJECT 2 work shall occur during the same 8-hour outage for each switch as is scheduled for PROJECT 1 work. All 8-hour outages will be scheduled either after 5pm or on the weekends. A. PROJECT 1 1. Remove existing 400 Amp S&C Fault Fiter fuses in existing 4.16kV S&C PMH Switches and install new 5kV, SMU-20 fuses and associated fuse clips in their place. Fuse sizes to be replaced and their switch numbers are listed in Appendix A. 2. Contractor will have 8 hours per switch for fuse replacements, regardless of the number of fuses per switch to be replaced. All 8-hour outages will be scheduled either after 5pm or on the weekends. 3. Contractor shall work with TSU personnel to isolate each switch prior to fuse replacements and then to re-energize the switch after installation. 4. Fuse installation and associated outages will be coordinated with TSU at least two (2) weeks in advance. 5. 5kV Fuses that are removed shall be turned over to Owner. 6. Reference drawings E1.1, E1.2, and E1.3 are the Campus 4.16kV Campus Electrical Distribution drawings indicating Switch numbers and locations. 7. Reference drawings E2.1 and E2.2 are the Campus 4.16kV One-Line Diagrams with Switch numbers indicated. B. PROJECT 2 1. Clean inside switches listed in Appendix B per S&C recommendations. 2. Provide corrosion protection on inside of switches listed in Appendix B, using Loctite Extend Rust Neutralizer on the affected areas. 3. All loose dirt, paint, and rust must be removed by scraping, wire brushing, or sanding prior to application. 4. Project 2 work shall occur during the same 8-hour outage for each switch as is scheduled for Project 1 work.
