Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of Sugarland Run South Stream Restoration located in Herndon, Virginia. The work shall include the following: Construction of approximately 1,100 linear feet of stream restoration in the Sugarland Run Stream, as well as 250 linear feet of three side intermittent tributaries within Town of Herndon property. Stream restoration will include but are not limited to constructed riffles, rock cross vanes, rock toe revetments, plunge pools and rock outfall channels. This is a lump sum contract. Contract length is 240 calendar days to date of Substantial Completion. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing or by email to the attention of the Senior Civil Engineer of Public Works at publicworks@herndon-va.gov This office is the only point where information will be disseminated. All questions must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Instruction to Bidders. Bids shall be binding for sixty (60) days. The Town of Herndon reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the town. The stream restoration site shall be accessed on Elden Street adjacent to Herndon Police Department. Access will utilize a small portion of NOVA Parks W&OD Bridle trail before re-entering Town of Herndon property. The stream restoration will be on Town of Herndon property. The Project is generally located at 38.9608 Latitude and -77.3700 Longitude on the Vienna, VA-MD USGS Quadrangle Map.
