Dirksen Pkwy, Springfield, IL 62703 USING AGENCY: Illinois Department of Transportation COUNTY: Sangamon PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construction of a new, 45,000 sq. ft. partially temperature controlled, single story PEMB Warehouse on the IDOT Hanley Campus. This building will provide adequate space for storage and functions of each department. COST RANGE: under $ 9,000,000 _____________________________ Earlier RFP solicitation below: The Administration/Hanley Building is a 5-building facility established in 1965. The scope of this project is to construct two new pre-engineered metal buildings located near the Illinois Department of Transportation Headquarters at 2300 Dirksen Parkway in Springfield, Illinois. The scope of work provides for constructing a heated and cooled 35,000 square foot building to be the Central Warehouse/ Distribution Center and Exhibit Shop. The buildings will include minimum 20-foot ceilings to house supplies and furniture and may include, but is not limited to, a recessed loading dock, a bumper flush dock and a drive through 16-foot overhead door, with receiving area, counter space to process orders, office space for employees, and water access located in the warehouse with floor drain. The scope of work for the Exhibit Shop includes a 14-foot overhead door, shop area for fabrication equipment, office space for employees, water access with eye washing station, downdraft paint booth with ventilation system, break-room, locker room and restrooms to accommodate warehouse and Exhibit personnel. Fire protection is required throughout the entire structure with video security surveillance, security alarm monitoring and controlled access. The exterior includes access paving and receiving space fenced and secured with card access. The scope of work provides for constructing a heated and cooled 25,000 square foot building for Grounds Crew Warehouse and provide overflow storage. The scope includes a hydraulic vehicle lift, wash bay with oil/water separator, minimum 20 foot ceilings to house grounds and building supplies and may include, but is not limited to, a recessed loading dock, a bumper flush dock and two drive-through 16-foot overhead doors, with receiving area, water access located in the warehouse with floor drain, designated space for spill cleanup and eye washing station, office space for employees, break- room and restrooms, with shower. Fire protection is required throughout the entire structure with video security surveillance, security alarm monitoring and controlled access. The exterior includes access paving and receiving space fenced and secured with card access. The work also includes parking for semis, delivery trucks, agency fleet vehicles and scrap dumpsters. The A/E will be responsible and must utilize or be a qualified environmental firm for preparing and submitting plans and reports in accordance with Section 669 of IDOT's Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. The A/E will also be responsible for monitoring all soil excavation, ensuring contractor compliance and measurement for payment in construction.
