Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,497-square-foot theater / auditorium.
As of September 27, 2021, this project has not yet been awarded. It is expected to be awarded on October 1, 2021. The completion date should be 150 days from the notice to proceed date. This project involves reopening of the Lincoln Theater with no change in occupancy. The building has been closed for several years, during which time the electrical wiring and the HVAC system were both completely destroyed. The repairs of the mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) and electrical systems comprise the entire Scope of Work of this project. The HVAC and electrical repairs comprise the base bid, and the plumbing is an alternate. Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the Professional of Record no later than seven (7) days prior to bid opening. In particular, bidders should note the required attachments and certifications to be executed and submitted with the bid proposal. The Contractor shall obtain, maintain during the life of the project and provide to the Owner and Engineer copies of the following bonds and policies which shall be obtained from surety companies which appear on the U.S. Treasury Circular 570, licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana, in the amounts and for the purpose stated and subject to the Owners approval: 1. BID BOND: A Bid Guarantee equivalent to 5% of the bid price consisting of a firm commitment, such as a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check, money order or other negotiable instrument, shall accompany each bid as assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of his bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required and within the time specified. 2. PERFORMANCE BOND: A performance bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure the Contractors faithful performance of the contract. 3. PAYMENT BOND: A payment bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure payment as required by law of all persons supplying labor and material in the performance of the work provided by the contract. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of Mechanical Work or Electrical Work. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B) (5). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. The Lincoln Theater is listed in the National Register of Historical Places, and Contractors with experience in work on historical buildings are encouraged to bid, however that is not a bid requirement.
