Renovation of an educational facility in River Falls, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project replaces aged electrical distribution systems including medium voltage equipment, main distribution panels, branch circuit panels, and feeders for both Prucha Hall and Stratton Hall. Project also will provide emergency and optional standby power for life safety systems and critical equipment necessary to prevent building freeze-up or flooding in an outage. Emergency and optional standby automatic transfer switches and distribution equipment will be provided. Existing circuits will be extended and connected to new distribution equipment. Project will connect to existing generator recently installed as part of May Hall project The Contractor shall be a company with experience in the installation of medium voltage cable, medium voltage equipment and components. The Contractor shall have a minimum of two qualified electricians trained and qualified in the installation of medium voltage cable, medium voltage equipment and components. Bidder must meet these requirements or bid shall be rejected. All potential bidders must be certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $50,000. All bids received from contractors who are not certified will be rejected. Contractor certification applications and instructions for completing the form may be obtained through electronically. Only bidders who have been certified by DOA as a qualified and responsible bidder in the ELECTRICAL division of work may bid on this project. Base Bids will be received as follows: A single lump sum bid for All Work. A bid bond prepared on the Bid Bond Form bound herein, payable to the State in the amount not less than 10% of the maximum bid shall accompany each bid as a guarantee. A bank certified check or a cashiers check may accompany each bid as a guarantee pursuant to Wis. Stat. s. 779.14(1m)(c)2.b. and 779.14(1s). Failure to enter into the contract with the state (including failure to obtain certificate of insurance and separate 100% performance and 100% payment bonds) may result in forfeiture of the Bid Bond. The company issuing the Bonds must be licensed to do business in Wisconsin. This project is being let using a new single trade bidding and contracting process. When 85% or more of the construction cost of a project could be completed by a Single Trade Contractor (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection), the Department may bid and contract all work of that construction project directly to a Single Trade Contractor. The State will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified single trade MEP contractor. Single trade MEP contractors may bid on single trade projects up to their current division of work certification level for that trade. All Work for this project will be awarded to a single trade ELECTRICAL contractor. Bidders shall submit a Single Base Bid for all Work.
