Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mount Sterling, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

As of Sept 10 the project is awarded to K E Vas Company for $392,828.01. This project consists of resurfacing South Street from Southwest Cross Street to Southeast Cross Street. Also included is the construction of a parking lane from Southwest Cross Street to Capitol Avenue. The improvements will consist of hotmix asphalt milling and surfacing, ADA sidewalk removal and replacement, earth excavation, placement of aggregate base course, tree removal, and related work. The road will be resurfaced with 2" of hot-mix asphalt, while the parking lane will be constructed with either 6" of aggregate under 3" of hot-mix asphalt as Alternate A, or 4" of aggregate under 6" of PCC as Alternate B. The Contractor will be required to be pre-qualified with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any non-responsive, nonresponsible bidder, and waive any informalities to the benefit of the Owner. The plans and proposals are each a call for bids containing all requirements governing the letting and performance of the particular contract including but not limited to any applicable requirements for the payment of prevailing rates of wages for labor are required by law. A proposal guaranty in the proper amount, as specified in IDOT BLRS Special Provision for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals, will be required. Bid bonds will be allowed as a proposal guaranty. The Contractor must complete all work associated with this project on or before November 19, 2021.
