Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bloomfield, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of the following items and approximate quantities: 4.3 miles of clean and preparation of base; 14,500 S.Y. of crack and seat for PCC pavement; 5,250 tons of HMA, Standard Traffic, intermediate; 5,250 tons of HMA, Standard Traffic, surface; 865 tons of HMA, Heavy Traffic, surface; 1,100 S.Y. of sidewalk, PCC, 4"; finish grading, cleanup, seeding, and fertilizing; and miscellaneous appurtenant work usually associated with a street improvement project. The work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed. The proposed street improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before August 19, 2022. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be 10% of the bid amount By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. Iowa sales tax will not be paid on materials purchased for this project. The City will issue a sales tax exemption certificate.
