Renovation of a water / sewer project in Wallingford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

To furnish and install an oil water separator tank, piping and all appurtenances for a complete operational oil water grit separating system for the floor drains in the vehicle maintenance garage at the Wallingford Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) at 155 John Street, Wallingford, CT 06942. Furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required for a complete oil water grit separating system at the WPCF. Work includes furnishing and installing oil water grit separator, including all required piping, fittings, concrete wall coring, concrete slab removal and replacement, excavation, backfill, temporary pavement and restoration as shown and specified herein. Proposals are to be: Made out and signed in then corporate, or other, name of bidder and signed by an authorized person to fully and properly execute the bid. Proposals received later then the time and date specified for the bid opening will not be considered. Amendments to or withdrawal of proposals received later than the time and date set for the opening will not be considered. In order to be exceptions to the bid must be made on the exceptions page or a clearly marked attachment. Electronic changes to any of the Bid pages including the specifications and General terms $ conditions is not Allowed and may result in the rejection of the bid. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g, as amended. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned businesses and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals Work must be completed within 60 days after receipt of purchase order. Questions concerning the work requirements of this bid should be submitted through electronically. Requests for clarifications must be submitted by 5:00 P.M. on August 27th. Verbal inquiries and any subsequent verbal responses will not be binding to the Town of Wallingford. Answers to questions will be posted on the Purchasing Portal or via an addendum emailed to all registered bidders who have downloaded the bid online by 5:00 P.M. on September 3rd. The awarded Contractor must commence and complete work within the time specified in the Bid Proposal. Upon written acceptance of the bid the, awarded contractor must provide all bonds and insurance certificates required and enter into a formal Agreement with the Town within 10 days. Time is of the essence. Work must begin within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of written Notice to Proceed, and must be completed within the time specified in the Bid Proposal. Bidders or their representatives may be present at the bid opening. Bids are opened at the Wallingford Town Hall in room 205 immediately after the date and time stated in the bid. The Town of Wallingford may require further information and references on any individual or company placing a bid prior to the awarding of a bid. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to amend and/or cancel the bid invitation prior to the time and date of the bid opening. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to correct an award erroneously made as a result of a clerical error on the part of the Town of Wallingford. A contract shall not be awarded to any corporation, firm or individual who has an unpaid and overdue debt to the Town by nonpayment of taxes, by debt or contract, or who is in default as surety or otherwise by any obligation to the Town. The work, as proposed by the Wallingford Sewer Division and covered under this Specification, shall consist of site work, excavation, removal and replacement of concrete slab, furnishing and installing water oil grit separator, underground and interior piping, coring holes in concrete gallery walls, backfill, temporary pavement restoration, site restoration and all other work required to Furnish and Install the Oil Water Separator at WPCF as specified and shown on the Drawings.
