Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Port Arthur, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a municipal facility.
As of 10/21/2021 project was already awarded, anticipated start date is 11/2021, end date March 2022. . Berth 6 Expansion Project, consisting of the furnishing of all materials, equipment, tools, labor, supervision, services, and performing all operations in connection with the construction of wharf deck, new bulkhead wall, anchor wall, bulkhead return wall, low mast light poles and associated foundations, shoreline stabilization, dredging, site fill, fencing, hydromulching, and other work associated with the construction of a one thousand (1,000) foot dock structure located at the Port of Port Arthur, including any and all demolition required to accommodate the new construction, all as more specifically set forth in the Berth 6 Expansion Project Construction Manual issued by the Port of Port Arthur and dated June 2021 (the "Berth 6 Expansion Project"). A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, will be required in accordance with State Law for any contract in excess of Fifty Thousand ($50,000) Dollars. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid must also be submitted with the Bid documents. Attention is called to the fact that this is a contract for construction of public works and that there must be paid on same not less than the prevailing wage rates which have been established by all applicable statutes and the terms of this contract pursuant to State Law and which are set out in detail in the contract documents. The Contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to the Port of Port Arthur Ten ($10.00) Dollars for each laborer, workman or mechanic employed, for each calendar day, or portion thereof, if such laborer, workman or mechanic is paid less than the said stipulated rates for any work done under this contract, by him, or by any subcontractor under him. A copy of such currentwage schedule isincluded in the contract documents and anyEqual Employment Opportunity requirements must be met. The Port of Port Arthur Navigation District is an organization which qualifies for exemptions pursuant to the Texas Tax Code, Chapter 151, Limited Sales, Excise and Use Tax Act. No Texas sales tax shall be included on the prices bid for tangible personal property which is to be incorporated into and/or consumed in the performance of this Project. The contractor performing this Project may purchase materials, supplies, and/or equipment incorporated into and/or consumed in the performance of this Project by providing to its suppliers an exemption certificate issued in accordance with Texas law. The Port of Port Arthur, as a recipient of a FY 2018 BUILD Transportation Discretionary Grant and in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origins in consideration for an award. Contract Time for Completion of Project shall be 855 Calendar days Liquidated Damages for reasons as described in the bid documents shall be $5,600.00 per day.
